Scope
This policy describes the VA Buddy Auto Apply browser extension. VA Buddy websites, LinkedIn and OnlineJobs.ph also have their own privacy policies for their services.
Information processed
The extension reads supported job listings, job URLs and descriptions, visible application questions, selected résumé information, contact fields and application status. You can provide role preferences, exclusions, daily limits, contact details, saved answers and a PDF résumé. The locally selected PDF is parsed in your browser; extracted text, page references and its filename may be stored locally for supported screening answers. Application history can include job titles/URLs, status, questions, reasons, résumé filenames, supporting résumé excerpts, external links, timestamps and attempt counters.
Use and transfers
This information is used to discover jobs, prepare supported forms, reuse your answers, generate cover letters, track attempts and prevent duplicate submissions. For OnlineJobs.ph, job information is entered into VA Buddy Letters, whose service generates a letter using your active CV and credits; the resulting letter and application information are entered into OnlineJobs.ph. For LinkedIn, answers and contact details are entered into Easy Apply and the résumé selected in LinkedIn is used. In automatic mode, the relevant job service receives the application for delivery to the employer. These transfers are part of the application workflow you enable. Third-party services control their own storage and subsequent processing.
Local storage and security
Settings, extracted résumé text, saved answers, contact details, logs and history are kept in chrome.storage.local in the browser profile. The extension does not implement an additional encryption layer or cloud synchronization for these records. Anyone with access to your browser profile may be able to access local records. The extension uses existing signed-in sessions; it does not ask you to give it passwords or implement a password/cookie collection service.
No advertising or analytics
The extension package does not include advertising, analytics tracking, or the sale of personal data. It does not intentionally send extracted résumé documents to an extension-operated analytics server. This does not describe independent activity by the websites you visit or your browser provider.
Retention and controls
Local records remain until removed. You can edit settings and saved answers, stop new automation actions, and export job history. Uninstalling the extension removes its extension-local storage; keep any records you need first. Downloaded exports remain in your files until you delete them. Removing local data does not withdraw submitted applications or delete records held by employers or third-party services. Contact the relevant service for its deletion controls.
Support
If you email support, the recipient receives the information you choose to send, including any attached history. Redact unrelated personal information and never email passwords. Contact ecomexpert@yourvabuddy.com for privacy questions or help identifying the information involved in your request.
Changes
Updates to data handling will be reflected in this policy with a revised effective date.
